Kitchen 713 is a new restaurant in the Heights that boasts an innovative menu. I discovered this gem when looking for a brunch spot on Christmas Eve. The menu is eclectic, there is ample parking (in the Heights!), the staff are friendly and attentive and the food was relish.
There were lots of tasty choices on the brunch menu. I chose the Thai Jewel Omelette. It is stuffed with lump crab meat, beach mushrooms, thai herbs, roasted chill and choron sauce. It was pretty good, but a touch on the fishy side. I balanced the taste by sampling my dining partner’s macaroni and cheese (fantastic, by the way) and with a side of fruit.
My dining companion chose to order the morning slut burger. Yes. That’s the name. It is saved on an onion roll and contains a beef patty, bacon, hash browns (inside the burger), a fried egg and house pickles. It looks delicious. I can attest that the mac and cheese was bomb!
Kitchen 713 gets 4 out of 5 yellowlegs for a creative menu, friendly staff and like the best mac and cheese ever.
