Bring me to Bangkok! The Grand Palace
Thailand has been on my bucket list forever. I finally made It out to see what the hype is all about. I spent two weeks there, so I will tell you all about it, city by city.
First up is crazy, chaotic, charming Bangkok. Bangkok was totally different than what I expected it to be. It’s a huge city that reminds me of New York City. There is a ton going on here, in kind of an organized chaotic way.
No trip to Bangkok is complete without a visit to the Grand Palace. During our visit, there were thousands of mourners line-up to pay their respects to the recently deceased King Bhumibol Adulyadej. He passed away on October 13, 2016 after reigning for 70 years. His was the world’s longest reign. The love the people had for him was immediately apparent, as there are shrines and burials dedicated to him all over the city.
The palace grounds were simply stunning. I can only give you a glimpse of what it was like to walk the grounds. You must see it for yourself. This painting is a condensed version of the palace grounds.
The Grand Palace is a MUST SEE! Stay tuned for more blog posts from my incredible trip to Thailand. Let me know what you think in the comments.
